Senate Committee on Education/Higher Education shall nominate two members for the State Board of Community Colleges with terms expiring June 30, 2027.

Nominations accepted August 18-19, 2021 from 5:00 P.M., with nominees required to file North Carolina State Ethics Statement of Economic Interest by the same deadline.

Senate Committee shall screen nominees for qualifications and ensure finalist slate does not exceed twice the number of open seats (maximum four nominees for two positions).

If nominees exceed available seats, Senate shall conduct ballot election by August 31, 2021 requiring majority vote, with runoff procedures if needed and names arranged alphabetically by surname.

Election results shall be sent by Special Messenger to the House of Representatives and communicated to the State Board of Community Colleges by the Senate Committee Chair.
