Appropriates $150,000 in nonrecurring funds from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services for fiscal year 2022-2023 to study ocular melanoma in Huntersville, Cornelius, and surrounding areas in northern Mecklenburg County.

Allocates funds to the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University to identify potential causes and solutions for abating ocular melanoma in the designated area.

Requires Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment to coordinate with the North Carolina Policy Collaboratory at UNC Chapel Hill and employ strategies from the Collaboratory's April 2020 report to the General Assembly.

Mandates submission of a study results report, including any proposed legislation, to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services by December 1, 2023.

Becomes effective July 1, 2022.
