The Division of Motor Vehicles must provide suitably reduced size registration plates (approximately 4 by 7 inches) to registered owners of modified utility vehicles, motorcycles, and property hauling motorcycle trailers.

Reduced size plates may be issued on a multiyear basis or annual basis, consistent with existing motorcycle registration plate regulations.

Dealer license plates for modified utility vehicle and motorcycle dealers and manufacturers must also be available in reduced size format.

$13,000 in nonrecurring Highway Fund appropriations for the 2022-2023 fiscal year will fund production of the reduced size registration plates.

Provisions become effective October 1, 2022, and apply to registration plates issued or renewed on or after that date.
