Allows judges to temporarily renew domestic violence protective orders when a renewal hearing is scheduled after the current order's expiration date.

Temporary renewal extends the current order for a fixed period not to exceed the renewal hearing date or 30 days from expiration, whichever occurs first, unless both parties consent to a different arrangement.

Temporary renewal of custody awards cannot extend beyond the maximum one-year period for temporary custody orders.

Appropriates $25,000 in nonrecurring funds to the Administrative Office of the Courts for the 2022-2023 fiscal year to create educational materials about the statutory changes for court staff and domestic violence stakeholders.

Becomes effective December 1, 2022, and applies to all pending motions to renew filed before, on, or after that date.
