Creates the North Carolina Trauma Prevention Task Force within the Department of Health and Human Services to study trauma deaths and injuries by age, cause, and geographic distribution.

Task Force shall submit annual reports to the Governor and General Assembly with recommended policies and legislative proposals to reduce penetrating and blunt trauma injuries and deaths.

Task Force consists of 35 members including state officials (Chief Medical Examiner, Attorney General, emergency services directors) and representatives from 16 trauma-related organizations, plus 5 senators and 5 representatives appointed by legislative leadership.

Task Force meets quarterly, may hire staff and consultants, and members receive travel and subsistence expenses in accordance with state law.

Appropriates $155,000 in recurring funds from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services to support the Task Force's operations, effective July 1, 2022.
