Appropriates $2,261,000 in recurring funds to the Department of Public Safety for fiscal year 2022-2023 to hire one Housing Support Specialist and one Support Specialist at each of the 17 local reentry councils in North Carolina.

Appropriates $3,825,000 in recurring funds to provide reentry rental assistance to individuals served by each of the 17 local reentry councils, with funds remaining available until expended.

Appropriates $867,000 in recurring funds to provide transportation vouchers to individuals on post-release supervision served by each of the 17 local reentry councils, with funds remaining available until expended.

Appropriates $140,000 in recurring funds to contract with Central Piedmont Community College and Fayetteville Technical Community College to hire one full-time Reentry Education Navigator position at each institution to serve justice-involved students.

Appropriates $25,000 in nonrecurring funds to the State Reentry Council Collaborative to develop online professional development modules for state agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations on serving individuals with criminal records.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
