Department of Military and Veterans Affairs must ensure all four state veterans cemeteries are adequately staffed and must address issues including delayed headstone installation, damage from equipment, drainage problems, debris, and poor grounds appearance.

Department shall permit military groups, National Guard, ROTC, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and other fraternal organizations to volunteer for maintenance projects at state veterans cemeteries.

Department must review and adjust cemetery policies regarding chapel-only services, time allotted for funeral services, attendee limits, and restrictions on grave site visitation during funerals.

Department must submit a report by October 1, 2023 to the House and Senate Chairs of the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on General Government and House Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs detailing identified issues and policy changes made.
