Waives facilities fees and $30 General Court of Justice fees for personal property collections by affidavit when both conditions are met: the amount to be collected is $5,000 or less and the sole source of estate assets is held in the Escheat Fund.

Applies to affidavits filed under G.S. 28A-25-1 and to estates where the sole asset is a cause of action.

Fee waiver is available upon application by the affiant and is recommended by the Department of State Treasurer.

Becomes effective January 1, 2024, and applies to petitions filed on or after that date.
