Changes Thomasville City Board of Education from appointed to elected members, effective beginning in 2023.

Board shall consist of five members elected to staggered four-year terms using nonpartisan plurality voting.

Initial 2023 election: three candidates receiving highest votes serve four-year terms, two receiving next highest votes serve two-year terms; thereafter, elections held in odd-numbered years with two members elected in 2025 and every four years, and three members elected in 2027 and every four years.

Any qualified voter residing in the Thomasville City Schools Administrative Unit may vote for all candidates; candidates file notices of candidacy with county board of elections under standard election procedures.

Repeals previous laws governing board appointments, including provisions from 1901 Private Laws, 1965 Session Laws, and 1981 Thomasville City Charter.
