Six state agencies and departments shall compile and report information to the Fiscal Research Division by December 31, 2023, regarding the trades workforce in plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, electricity, and welding.

Reporting agencies must provide current licensure requirements and educational/experience requirements for each trade discipline.

Agencies must report current workforce numbers by discipline, categorized by age, working years, and years of licensure, and project labor force needs over the next five to 25 years.

Agencies must identify current high school options for students to enter the trades and assess feasibility of establishing new high school programs, including potential residency options.

The Fiscal Research Division shall compile the reported information into a report for the General Assembly that may serve as the basis for legislative action in 2024.
