Acknowledges Japan as North Carolina's second-largest foreign investor with nearly $5 billion invested to date, $7 billion announced since 2018, and employing over 24,000 North Carolina workers

Expresses profound grief over the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzō on July 8, 2022, and condemns his killing as an attack on Japan's democracy and US-Japan friendship

Urges Congress to work more closely with Japan on mutually beneficial trade relations and recognizes the strategic importance of the Indo-Pacific region to US and North Carolina economies

Directs the Principal Clerk to deliver copies of this resolution to Japanese officials in Raleigh, the Japanese Embassy in Washington D.C., the Consulate in Atlanta, and all members of North Carolina's Congressional Delegation
