Allows chiropractic clinical assistants who are graduates or students of accredited chiropractic colleges participating in a preceptorship program to provide chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy, and nutritional instruction under direct supervision of a licensed chiropractor.

Defines "direct supervision" to require the supervising licensed chiropractor to remain within the immediate patient treatment area and be available to the student at all times.

Exempts students in chiropractic preceptorship programs from the Class 1 misdemeanor penalty for practicing chiropractic without a license, provided they perform services in accordance with G.S. 90-143.4(a) and under direct supervision.

Requires the North Carolina State Board of Chiropractic Examiners to adopt rules implementing the act's provisions.

Becomes effective October 1, 2023.
