Allows any person licensed as a registered nurse under North Carolina law to be employed as a school nurse without requiring additional certifications or licenses.

Requires registered nurse candidates to have at least two years of licensed experience in a hospital or health clinic prior to employment as a school nurse.

Removes previous requirement that school nurses be nationally certified by the American Nurses' Association or the National Association of School Nurses.

School nurses without national certification recognized by the State Board of Education shall be paid using the noncertified nurse salary range established by the State Board of Education.

State Board of Education is authorized to adopt temporary rules to implement the act until permanent rules are adopted.
