Local school administrative units and charter schools must allow students attending nonpublic schools to enroll part-time in any courses, programs, or services offered, provided they meet standard public school admission requirements.

Part-time students scheduled for one-third or more of full-time instructional hours receive 100% of average per pupil allocation funding; those scheduled for less than one-third receive 50% of average per pupil allocation.

Local school boards must develop and publish part-time enrollment policies on their websites, and charter schools must make part-time enrollment information available online.

Part-time students enrolled in charter schools do not count toward charter school enrollment growth limits.

$500,000 in nonrecurring funds appropriated for 2023-2024 for administrative implementation costs, and $270,000,000 in recurring funds appropriated for 2024-2025 to fund part-time student enrollment; effective July 1, 2023, applying to 2024-2025 school year enrollment requests.
