Department of Public Instruction must conduct a study on the impact of school-based mental health services on student outcomes and report findings to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee by January 1, 2025.

Report must include identification of public school units studied, job titles and qualifications of mental health service providers, and comparison of student daily attendance and instructional participation before and after mental health services were offered.

$75,000 in nonrecurring General Fund appropriation provided to the Department of Public Instruction for fiscal year 2024-2025 to conduct the study and issue the report.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2024.
