Senate Bill 202 Summary

• Reinstates the "M" salary schedule and education-based salary supplements for teachers and instructional support personnel meeting specific criteria, effective July 1, 2023.

• Eligible personnel include certified school nurses, those receiving the supplement before 2014-2015, and those who completed at least one course toward an advanced degree prior to August 1, 2013.

• Allows teachers not meeting prior criteria to qualify if they spend at least 70% of work time in classroom instruction related to their graduate degree and spend remaining time mentoring teachers, conducting demonstration lessons, writing curricula, or developing staff development programs.
