S238 - Western Carolina University Engineering Funds

• Appropriates $3,500,000 in nonrecurring funds to Western Carolina University for acquiring laboratory equipment and renovating/expanding laboratory facilities for the College of Engineering and Technology.

• Appropriates $3,500,000 in recurring funds to support instructional and professional staff focused on hands-on, project-based learning in industry.

• Appropriates $95,300,000 in nonrecurring funds to construct a new facility for the College of Engineering and Technology.

• Allocates total funds of $102,300,000 to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina for the 2023-2024 fiscal year to support program expansion addressing projected workforce needs in western North Carolina.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2023.
