Allows private school employees and volunteers to carry firearms or stun guns on school property with written authorization from the school board of trustees or administrative director.

Requires armed school employees and volunteers to possess a concealed handgun permit and complete a minimum of eight hours of gun safety and firearms training annually under a certified National Rifle Association instructor or equivalent.

Mandates private schools adopting this policy to maintain written standard operating procedures regarding weapon possession and distribution of these procedures to parents annually.

Permits individuals to carry concealed handguns in places of religious worship located on educational property while attending worship services, funerals, weddings, and other religious functions, including ingress and egress to designated parking areas.

Effective December 1, 2023, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
