NC S375

Prohibits health care providers from refusing to provide health care or professional services to patients based on their vaccination status at any time during treatment.

Defines "vaccination status" as an indication of whether an individual has received any vaccine.

Allows patients to file civil lawsuits against violating health care providers and recover damages (including punitive damages), injunctive relief, and reasonable attorney fees and costs.

Makes violation of this requirement a Class 2 misdemeanor and subjects violating providers to disciplinary action by their licensing agency.

Becomes effective October 1, 2023.
