Prohibits any person from possessing or carrying a dangerous weapon (as defined in G.S. 14-277.2) at a voting place, within 100 feet of the entrance to a voting place, or while in line to vote.

Prohibition applies only while a location is open and actively being used as a voting place.

Violation constitutes a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Exception allows law enforcement officers acting in discharge of official duties to carry weapons at voting places.

Becomes effective December 1, 2023, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
