Grants the State Auditor access to review all confidential investigative records, papers, and files held by the North Carolina Medical Board to ensure compliance with audits authorized by G.S. 147-64.6

Creates an exception to the Medical Board's existing confidentiality protections by allowing the State Auditor to review documents related to licensing, complaints, assessments, impairment matters, and disciplinary proceedings

Allows the Medical Board to make documents available for review at the Board's offices or any other reasonable location designated by the Board

Maintains the confidential status of all other Medical Board investigative information and restricts its release to parties other than the Board and those involved in licensing or disciplinary decisions

Becomes effective upon enactment
