Establishes new "team-based practice" settings for physician assistants in medical practices, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other health facilities that meet specific requirements, excluding pain management practices.

Requires physician assistants practicing in team-based settings to have more than 4,000 hours of clinical experience and more than 1,000 hours in their specific medical specialty before qualifying for team-based practice.

Eliminates the requirement for physician assistants in team-based settings to have a supervising physician, though those in perioperative settings including surgical or anesthesia services must remain supervised by a physician.

Allows team-based physician assistants to prescribe, order, and procure drugs and medical devices without physician authorization and to plan therapeutic regimens including non-pharmacological interventions.

Removes the need for physician assistants in team-based settings to file an "Intent to Practice" form naming a supervising physician, while maintaining team-based collaboration and consultation requirements determined by the practice and credentialing systems.
