North Carolina applies to Congress under Article V of the U.S. Constitution to call a convention limited to proposing a constitutional amendment imposing term limits on U.S. House and Senate members.

The Secretary of State must transmit copies of this application to federal officials including the President, congressional leadership, and all state legislatures.

This application shall be aggregated with similar applications from other states to reach the two-thirds threshold required by Article V to trigger a limited convention, but not combined with applications on other subjects.

The application constitutes a continuing request that remains valid until legislatures from at least two-thirds of states submit applications on the same subject matter.

The resolution becomes effective upon ratification by the North Carolina General Assembly.
