Department of Transportation must notify telecommunications utilities when highway construction requires relocation of their utility lines, facilities, or systems.

Telecommunications utility has 30 days after notification to inform the Department whether it will be responsible for designing the relocation.

If the utility fails to respond within 30 days, the Department of Transportation becomes responsible for managing the design of the relocation.

Relocation costs and work will be included in the Department's highway contract.

Act takes effect upon enactment and applies to all highway improvement contracts entered into on or after that date.
