Creates path for licensed psychological associates to practice independently after completing 3,000 hours of postgraduate supervised experience within a 24-60 month timeframe and submitting an application to the Board.

Allows the Board to automatically approve independent practice status for licensed psychological associates who meet the requirements in the new subsection (e1).

Permits licensed psychological associates without health services provider certification to obtain that certification upon completing independent practice requirements and paying the application fee.

Changes Psychology Board appointment process so that the Board solicits applications from all licensees and submits names of applicants receiving the most votes to the Governor, rather than using the North Carolina Psychological Association's nomination process.

All provisions take effect October 1, 2023, with the Board appointment changes applying to vacancies on or after that date.
