Eliminates reductions to long-term disability benefits based on Social Security disability or retirement benefits that beneficiaries receive.

Eliminates reductions to long-term disability benefits based on state or federal veteran disability benefits (Department of Veterans Affairs, G.S. 127A-108).

Retains reductions for Workers' Compensation benefits and earnings that exceed 100% of monthly compensation.

Modifies post-disability benefit adjustment calculations to remove the offset reduction related to Social Security benefit increases.

Becomes effective July 1, 2023, and applies to long-term disability benefits applied for on or after that date.
