Grants up to three consecutive paid workdays of bereavement leave to full-time state employees, public school employees, and community college employees upon death of an immediate family member, effective July 1, 2024.

Defines immediate family member as spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, grandparent, or grandchild, including step, half, and in-law relationships.

Requires part-time employees to receive a prorated amount of paid bereavement leave on an equitable basis.

Makes bereavement leave available in addition to sick leave, vacation leave, and other authorized leave, with no cash value upon termination and no impact on retirement benefit calculations.

Appropriates $2,000,000 from the General Fund to the Reserve for Compensation Increases for the 2024-2025 fiscal year to fund the bereavement leave program.
