Senate Bill 877 Summary

• Requires health benefit plans that offer fertility treatment coverage to treat ovulation medication limitations the same as other prescription medications, effective October 1, 2024

• Eliminates annual and lifetime limitations on coverage for ovulation medication and ovulation induction cycles for in-network healthcare providers in plans offering fertility treatment

• Requires the State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees to remove annual and lifetime limitations on ovulation medication and ovulation induction cycle coverage effective January 1, 2025

• Does not mandate coverage for fertility treatment or experimental fertility procedures under any health benefit plan

• Appropriates $2,500,000 in nonrecurring funds to the Department of Insurance effective July 1, 2024 for implementation, education campaigns, and contract compliance review
