Senate Joint Resolution 916 - Summary

• Establishes a series of reconvening dates for the 2023 Regular Session: July 10, 2024; July 29, 2024; September 9, 2024; October 9, 2024; November 19, 2024; and December 11, 2024, with final sine die adjournment on December 13, 2024.

• Restricts business at July, August, and September reconvening sessions to gubernatorial vetoes, appointments, election laws, litigation responses, impeachment, organizational resolutions, and conference reports.

• Permits the November 19, 2024 session to consider state budget bills, constitutional amendments, bills introduced by May 2, 2024, pension/retirement system bills, and local bills introduced by May 7, 2024.

• Allows the Speaker and President Pro Tempore to authorize committees to meet during interim periods to review budget matters and prepare reports for the 2023-2025 fiscal biennium.

• Resolution becomes effective upon ratification on June 28, 2024.
