Directs the NC Division of Motor Vehicles to create a voluntary driver's license designation for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, developed in consultation with the Department of Public Safety, Division of Mental Health, and State Highway Patrol

Requires acceptable documentation including certification from a medical, health, or mental health professional showing evidence of autism spectrum disorder diagnosis

Restricts access to the designation information exclusively to law enforcement for the purpose of ensuring safe interactions with individuals with autism spectrum disorder

Mandates that the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and Sheriffs' Education and Training Standards Commission establish training standards for officers on recognizing and appropriately interacting with persons with autism spectrum disorder

Takes effect upon becoming law, with designation requests accepted beginning January 1, 2026
