Exempts Granville County Schools and Vance County Schools from North Carolina's mandatory school calendar opening and closing date requirements

Removes the restriction that prevents these districts from starting school earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 or ending later than the Friday closest to June 11

Eliminates the need for these two districts to demonstrate "good cause" (such as 8 days of closures per year in 4 of the last 10 years) to obtain a State Board of Education waiver for earlier start dates

Applies exclusively to Granville County Schools and Vance County Schools as a local bill

Takes effect upon becoming law and applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year
