Town of Madison added to the list of municipalities exempt from the 10% satellite annexation cap under G.S. 160A-58.1(b)

Deannexation of specific properties from six municipalities effective June 30, 2025: Town of Andrews (approximately 62 acres in Cherokee County), City of Elizabeth City (6.89 acres in Pasquotank County), City of King (parcels in Stokes County), Town of Four Oaks (approximately 26 acres in Johnston County), City of Creedmoor (one parcel in Granville County), and City of Wilson (2.70 acres)

Deannexed properties no longer subject to municipal taxes for taxable years beginning on or after July 1, 2025, though existing liens for ad valorem taxes or special assessments remain enforceable

Town of Davidson charter revised and consolidated, establishing a council-manager form of government with a five-member Board of Commissioners elected at-large for staggered four-year terms and a Mayor elected for two-year terms

Three prior Davidson charter acts repealed (Private Laws of 1891 Chapter 281, Private Laws of 1935 Chapter 106, and Session Laws of 1957 Chapter 36), with 2025 municipal election implementing staggered terms based on vote totals received
