Removes state-mandated school calendar restrictions for Guilford County Schools, eliminating the requirement that schools open no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and close no later than the Friday closest to June 11

Strikes the "good cause" waiver process that previously allowed early start dates only for districts with documented history of weather-related closures (8 days per year in 4 of the last 10 years)

Removes the exemption language for modified calendar schools that were designated or planned during the 2003-2004 school year

Applies exclusively to Guilford County Schools as a local bill

Takes effect upon becoming law and applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year
