UNC constituent institutions may discount tuition for qualifying military students receiving federal military tuition assistance or NC National Guard tuition assistance, up to the difference between the assistance amount and applicable tuition

Students enrolled in employer-sponsored financial support programs approved by the UNC Board of Governors may receive tuition discounts up to the difference between employer contributions and applicable tuition

Military students must be NC residents for tuition purposes to qualify for the discount

UNC Board of Governors must report annually by February 15 to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee on the number of students receiving discounts and financial impact on each institution

Effective beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year; ratified June 19, 2025 and signed by Governor June 26, 2025
