State Board of Education must adopt a medical condition action plan for each public school student at risk for a medical emergency as diagnosed by a doctor, including a standard form, detailed instructions for designated staff, and protocols for off-campus activities like field trips and athletics.

State Board of Education, in consultation with DPI and DHHS, must establish a medical emergency plan for responding to student emergencies not covered by individual action plans.

At least one employee per school must be trained in first aid and lifesaving techniques, including seizure recognition.

Requirements apply to all public school units including local school districts, charter schools, regional schools, and laboratory schools.

Effective upon becoming law, applying beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.
