Charter schools seeking to join the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System may have their provisional entry period extended by up to two additional years beyond the initial one-year provisional period, allowing up to three total years before becoming a full participating employer.

Authority to reverse retirement benefit forfeitures due to felony convictions (when pardoned or conviction vacated) transfers from the State Treasurer to the Board of Trustees for four retirement systems: Teachers' and State Employees', Local Governmental Employees', Consolidated Judicial, and Legislative.
