Appropriates $4,000,000 in recurring funds for fiscal year 2025-2026 to the UNC Board of Governors for the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program, which is coordinated by East Carolina University

Provides program participation at no additional cost to local school districts, with first priority given to new teachers working in development tier one counties (the most economically distressed areas)

Eligible participants include teachers holding emergency licenses, residency licenses, or permits to teach, as well as graduates of UNC system educator preparation programs

Funds support services including a beginning teacher summit, assigned instructional coaches familiar with local school contexts, and ongoing career-embedded professional development
