Appropriates $2,308,273 for FY 2025-2026 and $2,291,650 for FY 2026-2027 from the General Fund to the Division of Public Health for sickle cell disease programs and services

Distributes $1,316,364 annually to six comprehensive sickle cell medical centers (Atrium Health, Duke, ECU, Mission Hospitals, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest) to support patient needs including social, behavioral health, and pediatric-to-adult care transition services

Requires each of the six medical centers to use $75,000 of their allocation to create a full-time Transition Coordinator position to help patients move from pediatric to adult care

Provides $353,250 annually in grants to community-based nonprofit organizations serving sickle cell patients, prioritizing underserved counties

Allocates $362,036 annually for new positions at the NC Sickle Cell Syndrome Program and $260,000 annually to distribute an evidence-based sickle cell toolkit to emergency departments statewide
