Amends Section 17 of Article I of the North Carolina Constitution to remove the exception that currently allows involuntary servitude "as a punishment for crime whereof the parties have been adjudged guilty"

Establishes an absolute prohibition on both slavery and involuntary servitude in the state with no exceptions

Requires the proposed constitutional amendment to be placed before voters at the November 3, 2026 statewide general election

Amendment becomes effective upon certification by the State Board of Elections if approved by a majority of voters
