Mandates the State Board of Education adopt rules for AED installation, use, maintenance, and coordination with local emergency medical systems

Requires training for public school personnel on AED use, CPR, and first aid, with oversight from licensed professionals

Applies to all public school units including local boards, charter schools, regional schools, and UNC system secondary schools, which must develop AED policies in accordance with State Board rules

Effective beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, with funding from existing appropriations under G.S. 115C-452
