Creates the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Commission within the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to preserve, interpret, and promote AAPI history, arts, and culture in North Carolina

Commission consists of 9 members serving staggered 3-year terms: 4 appointed by the Governor, 2 by the Senate President Pro Tempore, 2 by the House Speaker, and 1 by the Department Secretary

Initial board members must be selected by October 1, 2025, with the Governor designating the chair and the commission meeting at least twice annually

Appropriates $250,000 in recurring funds for each year of the 2025-2027 fiscal biennium to support commission operations, including a director and associate director

Effective date is July 1, 2025
