Requires the NC Marriage and Family Therapy Licensure Board to issue reciprocal licenses to out-of-state therapists, changing from discretionary ("may") to mandatory ("shall")

Reduces the continuous practice requirement for reciprocal licensure from five years to two years

Removes the marriage and family therapy associate category from reciprocal licensure eligibility, limiting it to fully licensed marriage and family therapists only

Accepts California's clinical examination as an alternative to the National Marriage and Family Therapy examination for reciprocal license applicants

Effective October 1, 2025, applying to applications submitted on or after that date
