Prohibits the manufacture, transfer, or possession of semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices (magazines holding more than 10 rounds) in North Carolina, effective December 1, 2025

Defines semiautomatic assault weapons to include specific named firearms (such as AK-47 variants, Colt AR-15, Uzi) plus semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns meeting certain feature-based criteria

Exempts weapons and devices lawfully possessed before the effective date, allowing current owners to keep and transfer existing items

Provides exceptions for law enforcement, military, retired law enforcement officers, licensed manufacturers conducting authorized testing, and nuclear facility security personnel
