Department of Public Instruction must establish approved lists of high-quality mathematics assessment systems, instructional systems, and professional learning offerings for kindergarten through grade 8 students and teachers

Local school districts are required to select and implement assessment systems for screening and progress monitoring, instructional systems for math support, and professional development from the DPI-approved lists

Parents must be notified within 15 calendar days when a student is identified with a mathematical deficiency, including description of the deficiency, current services, proposed interventions, and home strategies

Assessment systems must identify students with mathematical deficiencies including characteristics of dyscalculia, and instructional materials must include explicit instruction, problem-based learning, and responsive feedback technology

Effective upon becoming law, applies beginning with the 2026-2027 school year; DPI must report to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee prior to implementing new mathematics standards
