Establishes a 13-member Study Committee on Domestic Violence Training Standards for Professionals Involved in Child Custody Proceedings Involving Domestic Violence and Child Abuse

Committee membership includes legislators, directors from the Administrative Office of the Courts, UNC School of Government, Dispute Resolution Commission, DHHS Division of Social Services, Legal Aid of NC, and representatives from judicial and domestic violence organizations

Committee will study training requirements for judges, guardians ad litem, family mediators, parent coordinators, and reunification treatment professionals, including content on domestic violence dynamics, coercive control, the Duluth Model, and adverse childhood experiences research

Committee must submit an interim report by March 1, 2026 and a final report by June 30, 2026 to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Justice and Public Safety and relevant appropriations committees

Effective upon becoming law; Legislative Services Officer will provide staff support and members receive per diem and travel expenses
