Amends G.S. 120-135 to create exceptions to legislator document confidentiality protections that currently allow lawmakers to refuse disclosure of any documents made or received while in office

Requires legislators to disclose documents in response to federal grand jury subpoenas and requests from investigative authorities

Mandates disclosure of correspondence about bills appropriating State funds to businesses and nonprofits, as well as correspondence with lobbyists and lobbyist principals regarding legislation

Requires disclosure of legislator staff compensation records and correspondence with State agencies regarding the legislator's personal business interests

Effective upon becoming law
