Superintendent of Public Instruction will create an Annual Career Development Plan Pilot Program for students entering 7th grade during 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years at 12 selected partnered schools across the state

Students will create individual Career Development Plans in 7th grade and update them annually through high school graduation, with school counselor assistance and planning time provided during the instructional day

School counselors must attempt to meet with parents before creating or updating plans, and beginning in 10th grade must provide students and parents information about state and federal financial aid programs and FAFSA

Annual plan updates include grade-specific requirements: 8th graders receive lists of required 9th-10th grade courses, 10th graders identify graduation requirements for their postsecondary goals, and 11th graders not meeting college readiness standards receive remedial coursework plans

Superintendent must report annually to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee beginning August 15, 2026, on program progress and effectiveness
