Moore County Schools may align its school calendar with Sandhills Community College's calendar, bypassing standard state-mandated opening and closing dates

Current state law requires public schools to open no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and close no later than the Friday closest to June 11

Amends G.S. 115C-84.2(d) to add an exception allowing local boards to match their calendar with a community college serving their city or county

Applies exclusively to Moore County Schools as a local bill

Effective upon becoming law, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year
