Allows Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to align their school calendar with local community college calendars, bypassing standard state opening and closing date requirements

Current state law requires public schools to open no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and close no later than the Friday closest to June 11

Amends G.S. 115C-84.2(d) to add an exception permitting local boards to match schedules with community colleges serving their city or county

Applies exclusively to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as a local bill

Takes effect upon becoming law, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year
