Repeals G.S. 14-177, North Carolina's "crime against nature" statute, which has historically criminalized sodomy between consenting adults

Creates a new, separate criminal offense of bestiality (G.S. 14-363.4), defined as performing or submitting to any sexual act with an animal involving sex organs

Classifies bestiality as a Class I felony under the new statute

Updates juvenile protection statutes and educator license revocation provisions to replace references to "crime against nature" with the new bestiality offense

Effective December 1, 2025, applying to offenses committed on or after that date
